A credit
union is a nonprofit, cooperative financial institution owned and
run by its members. Organized to serve, democratically controlled
credit unions provide their members with a safe place to save and
borrow at reasonable rates. Members pool their funds to make loans
to one another. The volunteer board that runs each credit union is
elected by the members. Not for profit, not for charity, but
for service is a credit union motto.

About
Us
North Orange County
Credit Union was established in 1951 as the Fullerton City
Employees Credit Union. During the late 1960's and early
1970's the employees of the cities of Brea, Placentia and
La Habra were added to the field of membership. The name was
subsequently changed to North Orange County City Employees
Credit Union.
Beginning in the late 1980's,
the field of membership was expanded further to include employees
of certain approved private employers. These groups are known
as Select Employee Groups. Certain Costco
locations, Bristol Industries, Fender Musical, Toyota of Orange,
McCoy Mills Ford, Plasticolor, Stone Container and Taormina are just a few of the private employer
groups in the field of membership.
Because of the increased
diversity of the field of membership, the name of the credit
union was changed to North Orange County Credit Union.
In
September 2002, we received approval to add a number of
community groups to our field of membership. Now
people who live, work, attend school, or worship in the
following cities are also eligible to become members:
Fullerton, Brea, Placentia, La Habra, Anaheim, Buena Park,
Yorba Linda, Orange.
